This amazing Necklace and ear hangings are made using the art of which refers to the enameling work done of any metal surface. The art of Meenakari has its roots to Persia. The word MEENA stands for ‘enamel’ and the word KARI stands for ‘art’. Thus the word MEENAKARI means ‘the art of enamelling’. In Persian language the word Meena means ‘heaven’.

The art of decorating the metal surface by fusing the minerals and treated substances to it is called enamelling. In olden days the coloured stones and glass were crushed into fine powder and prepared for enamelling. But now a days some chemicals including ferrous salts, cobalt oxide, copper salts, and other salts are used for the preparation of enamel. 

The shimmering KUNDAN stone was used to add lustre and shine to the design giving it a ROYAL look!

Once the front surface of the design is complete the back side is decorated with hand painting using very fine brush. A variety of motifs in a highly organised pattern are made of birds, foliage, peacocks, elephants, flowers, parrots etc.
